Rock n Roll

Im not sure if i was understanding when we talked about rock n roll monday in class. Did they take country music and R&B and turn them in to rock n roll because that is what i am understanding is that rock n roll was made from country and R&B lyrics. Also why is it that we know today that alot of the music that was made by black singer and then remade by white singers such as Elvis and the Beach Boys, but still ignore the fact that they just remade the song. Most people today still think that the white singers are still the makers of the songs they sung. I would think that we would have given the black singers more credit today but we still ignore the fact that they made the sing. I also think it is just amazing how Elvis became so big i lived only 15 mins away from his in tupelo Mississippi were he was born and his hows was only two rooms big not even half the size of our class room. It had a bed in one room and the kitchen and a table. I then visited his house in memphis that was 45 mins away and it is so big. It is just amazing how he takes other singers songs and ends up living in this huge house, i have not seen the singers houses that he took the songs from but i can almost bet that there house was not as big as his. I just feel that because we know these songs dont belong to the white singers that we should give the black singers more credit than what we do.
