I only saw a few snippets of this while I was out somewhere a couple weeks ago, but I couldn't get over how amazing the quality was. The songs sounded like they were recorded and I didn't think he was really singing. Many stars tend to lose their voices over time (The Who's Superbowl Half Time) but MJ's was still so good. He would have made the best comeback ever, especially compared to other bands like The Rolling Stones who had tried to make a comeback, but they just didn't sound the same.
I've never been a huge MJ fan. Although I do remember the first music video I ever saw was Beat It when I was probably 3 years old. My younger sister, however, that's a whole different story. She's not obsessive, but let's just say that I know more MJ songs than just Beat It and Smooth Criminal (thanks to Alien Ant Farm). At first, I didn't like that she listened to him, but now that we're older, I appreciate that she opened my eyes (or ears) to something completely different than what I would have listened to.

So the day this movie came out-I rushed to Target to buy it and couldn't wait to get home and watch it. But then I forgot about this little thing called grad school, and teaching-and have been completely sidetracked! So I decided that over Spring Break I will devote one evening to it-after hearing what you think, I'm looking forward to it even more.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note-have you ever seen the Stones in concert?
