NAACP

I thought it was absolutely hilarious that the NAACP supposedly encouraged Rock N Roll as a way to bring down the whites and the middle class. If anyone from that time actually listened to the message of the NAACP they would have known that they did not want to bring down whites, instead wanted to elevate colored people. It seems that these accusations was just an attempt to censure rock n roll because of its rebellious characteristics. These accusation may have also been started because initially rock n roll was dominated by black artists and was actually able to cross into mainstream popular culture instead of being strictly consumed by blacks. It just amazes me how people can turn music, which is supposed to be an outlet and a source to bring people together, into a spectacle for political motivations.
