Hip Hop has changed over time because generations are different and also there are many other artist who have burst onto the scene. When rap first started back in the 70's one had to be able to really rhyme and be very creative about what goes on in the African-American communities. Hip Hop was not all about profits and record sales. Hip Hop was about showcasing your talent. In hip hop early days there were rap contest and people would form a circle and rappers would battle for hours. That was hip hop in the olden days.To be considered to have talent one had to be able flow rhymes from his/her brain. One was not considered a good rapper if they had written one rap and recited it every time they battle. Then rappers started signing record deals with record labels. This enabled the RAP GAME to then take off and explore next level opportunity.
In the rap game today rappers look for target markets therefore, their singles or albums can go platinum. Rappers today also rhyme about what goes on in African-American communities. Crime and illegal activities that goes on in urban neighborhoods is not legal but we must face it that is what goes on in the hood. This has led me to believe this is now the new rap game of the decades and also the hip hop will most certainly change as time and generations change. Believe me STAY TUNED IN! we have not seen nor heard it all yet just observe how innovative hip hop will become in the years to come.
