June Carter
So I have been listening to Johnny Cash all day today because I think he is awesome and because we watched walk the line. Right now I am listening to one of his gospel songs, "Were you there when they crucified the lord?" It isn't half bad. I really like how Joaquin Phoenix sounds pretty darn close to Johnny's voice. That was my 2nd time seeing the movie, but first time actually watching it. My last memory of Johnny Cash was seeing him on TV just sitting in a rocking chair rocking back and forth, I don't remember where, that's just what I remember. Seeing him portrayed as he was in the movie was a big change for me, shocking. But now to get to my title, June Carter. I don't remember where I heard it, it may have been in class or somewhere else, but I just thought I would bring it up even if it may have been already. Today, or Tuesday, or Monday, I was talking to someone somewhere and it was brought up how June Carter was a woman ahead of her time. Maybe I read it somewhere. It was frowned upon then, being in a very Christian oriented place, to be divorced. She had been divorced two times and also rode around in a car full of men all by herself. In the movie, the one woman June came across gave her crap about the divorce. June did what she wanted and if that was against social norms, she did it.
