So im still pretty baffled by the Lady Gaga disability photo shoot. I know shes like a crazy person and loves wearing the strangest things and also doing the weirdest things but i kind of feel like she has gone a tiddly bit to far. Yeah it might raise awareness to the problems but i feel like she is doing it in the wrong way. Also without a statement from her of what those pictures mean or what she is trying to portray is another reason why it maybe shouldn't be happening. But onto bigger and better things.
As in Crip Drag. For one, the phrase itself is offensive sounding. People who are disabled don't like having the negative stigmas from all of these words that we say (retard, cripple, slow) so i wonder who was the genius who was like "yeah lets call this form of art crip drag". Even i think it sounds offensive and i don't have any disabilities. But hey what kind of say do i have you know? I can complain about it till the cows come home but things probably wont change in the near future. so until then...
