MTV

MTV started to broadcast in 1981. I think it was very sensational in that time, because MTV showed music videos for 24 hours. I think MTV introduced new code for music, that was visual. As soon as MTV started, many artists started to make nice music videos, and promoted their music. this era was like "Video killed the radio star". Like Michael Jackson, he could get many fame and popularity through his performance, if there was no MTV, I don't think he could get many fame like today, because for his song, watching his performance and listening music are better than just listening. So I think MTV significantly contributed to 80s music history.
