over the past 10 years, hip hop has been on a serious decline. although i may not like gangsta rap like Wu-Tang or N.W.A, they at least showed talent in rapping about killing people. now a days its all the same. money, girls, cars, drugs, etc and nothing stands out. this is probably because the music industry has started writing the songs they want on the radio and then finding the rapper that will sing it. thats why i miss A Tribe Called Quest so much. they are one of the earliest rap groups and they prove almost every hip hop stereo type wrong. they sing about women being equal and NOT killing each other that many rappers were writing about at the time. this is uncommon now, and even more uncommon for the early 90s. if you want to hear some quality hip hop, go listen to Midnight Marauders. to this day, this is still one of my favorite albums...ever. their creativity and vision are still unmatched to this day. i just thought it was funny that during our class discussion confirming the urban stereotype, i was just thinking thats not true because of groups like Tribe and De La Soul
