Ken Burns

I have always enjoyed Ken Burns documentaries and would like to address the scathing review that we read on Burns' Jazz documentary. How can anyone expect Burns' vision of Jazz music to satisfy their own vision of what the content should focus on. Obviously this was Burns' opinion, of which he is entitled to, of what and who was important, he is the filmmaker and as such his personal preferences will ultimately make there way into shaping the film. I think that the author of the review did not agree with Burns' vision, which is fine, but for those of us who are not versed on who the major players in the history, refinement and continuation of Jazz as an art form walked away from the documentary with at least a clue of what Jazz was all about.
