Vinyl

I'm also a collector of vinyl and I do it for the same reason as her. I almost solely download my music and have almost no hard copies of songs so in order to support the smaller bands I enjoy I buy their 33s. The album covers is basically art and its a fun little hobby. Like I imagine most people, I received a bunch of vinyl from my parents (mostly 45s) and started from there.

Unfortunately, my hobby has been warped a little as I've started collecting more for the artwork. I collect the creepy album covers of previous generations from Slim Whitman to Mitch Miller to put on my wall. Garage sales and the Salvation Army provide the bulk of my collection as most of these artists aren't exactly in demand.

Vinyl are analog recordings and provide better sound than digital sound although I can't say I'm that much of an audiophile to tell the difference. Mostly I collect for the artwork and to support my favorite bands.
