Selling out

I was very surprised when I saw John Stamos performing with the Beach Boys on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, but I was even more surprised when Katie said that he has recently toured with them. I think that is very weird and kind of seems like the Beach Boys are selling out a little to be more commercially successful. Why else would they have John Stamos play drums with them? Why not a drummer who is actually a trained musician instead of a washed-up TV star? I have noticed lately that a trend is emerging where talented musicians who are beginning to lose their appeal team up with over-commercialized, younger musicians, perhaps to boost their own career again. Elton John with Lady Gaga, Meatloaf with Katharine McPhee and perhaps the most ridiculous team of Stevie Wonder and the Jonas Brothers. Why are these extremely talented musicians stooping down to the level of the Jonas Brothers? It’s very weird to me to see such established musicians taking the stage with younger musicians who will never reach their talent.
