Music Video

Although MTV became very popular and made a boat load of money, where do the music videos make they're money? I believe i saw somewhere that Thriller cost 5 or 7 million dollars to make. And then i also found out that music videos don't ever make money, they only promote the artist. It wasn't until youtube that a band could have some actual return on they're million dollar video. It just amazes me that so many people resorted to them when they had no return
