MTV's Not What It Used To Be
MTV has changed so much since I was little. When I was younger, I used to get so excited to watch MTV, especially TRL. But TRL is no longer in existence nowadays and has been replaced with corny shows (in my opinion) like date my mom, room raiders, sweet sixteen, 16 and pregnant, true life, etc. and has also been replaced by some reality tv shows such as the hills, the real world, and the real world/ road rules extreme challenges which I have to admit I was a sucker for. I don't even flip the channel to MTV anymore as to not be let down by the jokes of shows they air. MTV is not what it used to be. I loved TRL and would always try to predict which artist and song was going to be voted in to the number one spot even though many a times I did not agree who had the number one spot. MTV stands for musical television, so where's the music gone to? And why has music been replaced by these nonsense shows? And if you want to watch music vidoes, it seems that you have to either catch them early in the morning or really late at night. I tried to give MTV another chance a few days ago as I was flipping through the channels and there was an episode from the show silent library on. Needless to say, I was disappointed with the show after a whole 10 minutes. I'd like to see MTV go back to its original roots and put more of an emphasis on music and music videos as far as whats being aired on the station and maybe get rid of some of the mind numbing shows that are being played now. Maybe even bring back a show similar to TRL?
