It was very refreshing to know that he is rapping about real societal problems that everyone can relate to. Though I am not a fan of the style of hip hop, I definitely not as cynical towards it now. The message he is presenting is similar to the punk rock music I listen to, just less angry! I am looking forward to having him in our discussion tomorrow in class and I cannot wait to hear some more of his opinions. Another interesting aspect that he brought up is related to psychology: The words you say (positive or negative) will affect everything you do. If you are negative, negative things really do happen to you, as he pointed out with B.I.G. and Tupac. One thing that you also have to be mindful of, though, is that if other people view you a certain way, you are more likely to turn out how they view you. Even if you are constantly positive, if people have a negative view of you, you could still turn out negative. But, if you keep a positive view towards the negative thrown at you, you could get passed it very easily and not let it affect you as much as it would as if you were apathetic towards these views.
