Swing

Was swing the genre of music that made many of the African-American dances popular. I know these dances were seen in Minstrelsy, but i feel like they were only performed by the actors. I think that swing brought these dances into the mainstream culture and really set the tone for artists of many other genres such as rock, RnB, and pop to be heavily influenced by African-American dance and culture.
