Lady Gaga

I think the photos that Lady Gaga's disability photos is a disgrace to the music industry. she used a wheel chair that was covered in glitter and gems makes it seem as though she is almost trying to make it glamorous. she is just using these props for shock value so people will listen to her music. people are naive and just assume that she has to have done it to help inform. this argument is hoop lah. if she wanted to bring awareness to a topic, give a speech or organize a rally. The Notorious B.I.G never released pictures using a disability to gain publicity.
maybe its just me but this is just another piece of evidence that popular music is becoming less and less about the actual song writing and more about the image an artist promotes. ever since the early '00s, pop music has become more and more monotonous. Everything song has the same beat and nothing has the sticking power as pop music of decades past. this is because the people making the hits stop caring about the music and just started seeing dollar signs. today its all about flaunting your money and most of the time the artists dont even write the songs the make famous. at least the cheesy love ballads of the '80s came from the heart (at least a little bit) and the bands took the time to write their own music.
of course i might be a little bias since i think the whole bureaucracy of has been out of whack since the beginning of recorded music. but the industry has an act for creating a star that does not deserve to be one, like Britney Spears and 50 cent. just some food for thought
